July 28, 2021
Cunnington has been ruled out indefinitely after undergoing surgery on a testicular tumor recently discovered, his club announced Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Cunnington's absence comes as a shock after his dominant play from May through July, though at least the doctors were able to detect this tumor before things got any worse. It won't be immediately clear if he'll return before the home-and-away season ends in late-August.

MNorth Melbourne Kangaroos
July 21, 2021
Cunnington (personal) will return in Round 19 versus Carlton.
ANALYSIS
Cunnington missed last week due to personal reasons, but it'll only be a one-match absence. The midfielder has topped 100 fantasy points in eight of his last 10 appearances, so he should be a quality option this week.

Cunnington (personal) won't play versus Essendon in Round 18, per Fox Footy.
ANALYSIS

Has big game in loss
MNorth Melbourne Kangaroos
July 5, 2021
Cunnington scored two goals and two behinds to go with 26 disposals (17 kicks, nine handballs), eight marks made and seven completed tackles from Sunday's 108-79 loss to the Western Bulldogs in Round 16.
ANALYSIS
Cunnington had his best game yet during another loss for the 'Roos. With his team getting healthier and Cunnington remaining consistent thanks to scoring at least 100 points in four straight games, he's worth following if the price is right.
Scores twice in draw
MNorth Melbourne Kangaroos
June 13, 2021
Cunnington scored two goals to go with 25 disposals (14 kicks, 11 handballs) and made five tackles during Sunday's 94-all draw with GWS in Round 13.
ANALYSIS
Cunnington, like Jy Simpkin, has routinely scored over 100 points in recent weeks but also struggled to even pass 80 when he doesn't; something that's occurred only twice in the last six games. Since he's done well to log at least 20 disposals in every game of the season, Cunnington deserves the chance to be selected based on his decent scoring floor for someone in a last-placed team.
Outstanding showing in defeat
MNorth Melbourne Kangaroos
May 23, 2021
Cunnington netted 34 disposals, nine clearances, four marks, four tackles and a single goal Sunday as North Melbourne fell to Essendon 141-69 at Marvel Stadium.
ANALYSIS
A season-high tying 19 kicks and 15 handballs saw Cunnington finish North Melbourne's leader in disposals versus Essendon and secure the league's No. 18 ranking for disposals per game (27.88). He also set a new personal-best for inside 50s with seven. The midfielder exits Round 10 now averaging a very respectable 94.5 points an appearance, but playing for a Kangaroos squad in the midst set of an eight-game losing streak and ranked dead-last in the AFL for points per game.
