Appel, who suffered a season-ending shoulder injury in November of 2022, has been cleared to return to practice ahead of the 2023-24 season. The 6-foot-8 senior played in just five games last season, but in 2021, he averaged nine points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists on 17.2 minutes per game.
