Epton announced Monday via his personal Twitter account that he will enter the transfer portal with the intention of leaving SMU.
ANALYSIS
Following a promising freshman campaign in 2021 in which he recorded three touchdowns, Epton slid down the depth chart in 2022, seeing 27 fewer carries than he did the year prior while appearing in just six games. He'll seek a move elsewhere in 2023, presumably in search of finding a program that can present him with a clearer path to playing time. The six-foot, 193-pound back will have up to three years of eligibility to use at his next school.
