Weekly Rankings: Week 12 Value Meter

Weekly Rankings: Week 12 Value Meter

This article is part of our Weekly Rankings series.

Sunday Update complete.

Bye Week: Cardinals, Chargers, Chiefs, Vikings

Welcome to the Weekly Value Meter Rankings. This is a guide to help you decide who to start and sit in a given week. It's is not a season-long ranking nor a draft guide, and it's also not really intended as a free agent guide. While I appreciate that you want my opinion on pickups, every league is different, and your decision on whether to add/drop a particular player might also be dictated by other factors than who is rated higher in a given week.

Here are my operating assumptions for the rankings:

- The RB/WR/TE position rankings are for PPR leagues.
- The Flex rankings are for Standard leagues.
- 1 point per 10 rushing/receiving yards.
- 1 point per 20 passing yards.
- 4 points per passing touchdowns.

These are the rankings I use when I make my start/sit decisions. Please consult the rankings first before asking "Should I start Patrick Mahomes or Eli Manning?"

These are my particular rankings. If you want a second opinion elsewhere on the site, you can see our Weekly Projections.

Starting after Week 1, the rankings for the subsequent week will first post on Tuesday nights, roughly around 10:00 pm ET. I will then do a set of updates before kickoff on Thursday, and again before kickoff on Sunday morning.

I welcome debate on the rankings in the comments. Please keep it friendly.

Quarterbacks

1.Russell Wilson SEA at PHI
2.Lamar Jackson BAL at LAR
3.*Deshaun Watson HOU vs. IND
Note: Huge disappointment against the Ravens - his OL could not protect him, allowing six sacks and plenty more hits and hurries.
4.*Matt Ryan ATL vs. TB
Note: (Ankle) Sat out practice Wednesday, returned to full practice on Thursday. ***Full practices Thursday and Friday.***
5.*Drew Brees NO vs. CAR
Note: I moved him down a couple of slots as I think the Saints are going to run a little more than usual, especially around the goal line.
6.Aaron Rodgers GB at SF
7.*Derek Carr OAK at NYJ
Note: Despite the efficient game, his final output was somewhat disappointing against the Bengals thanks to the Raiders' slow pace.
8.Josh Allen BUF vs. DEN
9.*Dak Prescott DAL at NE
Note: ***Nasty weather forecasted for the game.***
10.Baker Mayfield CLE vs. MIA
11.Sam Darnold NYJ vs. OAK

Note: Pulled late with a hip pointer originally suffered in the second quarter against the Rams. Full practice Wednesday. ***Has no injury designation after full practices this week.***
26.Mason Rudolph PIT at CIN
27.*Brandon Allen DEN at BUF
Note: Probably will get another start, as Drew Lock is unlikely to get activated for Week 12.
28.*Ryan Finley CIN vs. PIT
Note: Struggled badly despite the positive matchup against the Raiders.
29.Taysom Hill NO vs. CAR
30.*Chase Daniel CHI vs. NYG
Note: Replaced Trubisky (hip) in the fourth quarter, but Trubisky was able to practice Wednesday.
31.*Matthew Stafford DET at WAS

Note: Coach Doug Marrone admitted that he should have used Fournette more against the Colts, which suggests he'll get heavy usage this week.
7.Aaron Jones GB at SF
8.*Saquon Barkley NYG at CHI
Note: Coming off a game where he had to have x-rays on his shoulder before the bye week. Not on the Giants' injury report this week.

Note: Scarbrough led in carries, but McKissic looked good with his opportunities, frequently earning extra yards after contact.

35.Royce Freeman DEN at BUF
36.Duke Johnson HOU vs. IND
37.Jamaal Williams GB at SF
38.*Kalen Ballage MIA at CLE
