Inconsistent ways continue
McGee lost to Matt Brown via KO (punch) at 4:09 of Round 1 at UFC on ABC 4 on Saturday in Charlotte.
ANALYSIS
The days of McGee impacting any sort of title picture have obviously long come and gone, but that doesn't mean the 38-year-old can afford setbacks such as this one in fights in which he enters as a -225 favorite. Court got the better of the action early on, landing a takedown and racking up 1:57 worth of control time in the brief bout, but one Brown right hand sent McGee crashing to the mat, forcing referee Dan Miragliotta to immediately step in. Court has lost two straight (both via first-round knockout) on the heels of a brief two-fight winning streak. He's 3-7 in his last ten fights dating back to January 2017.

Set to face Matt Brown in Vegas
McGee (21-11-0) is scheduled to face Matt Brown (23-19-0) in a welterweight bout at the UFC's May 13 event in Las Vegas, Damon Martin of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The 38-year-old McGee will be looking to get back on track in Las Vegas after he saw his two-fight winning streak come to an end in his last trip to the Octagon last summer, when he lost to Jeremiah Wells in the first round via left hook. Brown, meanwhile, has dropped three of his last four bouts but should have plenty of motivation when he fights for the first time since March 2022. With a knockout of McGee, the 42-year-old Brown would tie the UFC all-time career record of 13.

Crushed by Jeremiah Wells
McGee lost to Jeremiah Wells via KO (punch) at 1:34 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Austin, Texas.
ANALYSIS
McGee appeared to be headed towards a release following a stretch from January 2017 to October 2020 in which he went 1-5. The UFC gave him another opportunity, and McGee responded with back-to-back decision wins over Claudio Silva and Ramiz Brahimaj. He could not duplicate that success here. McGee -- who hadn't been knocked out since August 2016 and just once in his professional career entering this fight -- ate a left hook from Wells which turned his lights out on the spot. Court will be turning 38 years of age this coming December, and whenever you see an aging fighter who has never had durability issues in the past get stopped like this, it makes you wonder how close they are to reaching the end of the line.

Draws Wells in June
McGee will take on Jeremiah Wells at the UFC event June 18, Eurosport Nederland reports.
ANALYSIS
McGee picked up his second win in a row back in January via unanimous decision over Ramiz Brahimaj. He will take on a fighter in Wells who is a perfect 2-0 since joining the UFC.

Second straight strong effort
McGee defeated Ramiz Brahimaj via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) at UFC on ESPN 32 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
McGee has a hard time at his advanced age in anything other than ugly, grinding affairs, but that's what this fight turned into, and it resulted in an easy win for the veteran. McGee displayed surprising power with a late knockdown of Brahimaj in Round 1, but it was his five successful takedowns attempts for 10:57 worth of control time which ultimately won him the fight. Court has now put together back-to-back quality efforts, albeit against lesser competition. The UFC still needs to be exceedingly careful regarding who they match him up against moving forward despite this recent run of success.
