Four shots in loss
DLiverpool
April 15, 2024
van Dijk generated four shots (zero on goal) in Sunday's 1-0 defeat versus Crystal Palace.
ANALYSIS
van Dijk was simply desperate to try and restore parity during Sunday's clash, taking some shots from range but failing to put them on target. The center-back finally came up short while trying to bail out the team. Still he remains one of the best in the Premier League, and Liverpool will continue to have great clean sheet chances in most matches.

Dealing with illness

Van Dijk didn't play Sunday against Arsenal in the FA Cup third round due to an illness, manager Jurgen Klopp confirmed in his pre-match press conference. "Virg is ill. We were actually kind of lucky in the last two, three weeks because a lot of staff had it but not the players. And now Virg got the virus and we have to see how he feels tomorrow and if he is available for the next one. But for today there was no chance, so we didn't even try it."
