Kings Host Magic on Wednesday
The Sacramento Kings play host to the Orlando Magic at Golden 1 Center on Wednesday.

The Magic (5-20) were expected to be one of the worst teams in the NBA, and they've certainly lived up to those expectations. They actually have the worst record in the NBA right now, entering this matchup losing 12 of their last 14 games. That horrific stretch is quite surprising when you look at this roster, though, with numerous young pieces developing into solid NBA players. Wendell Carter Jr and Mo Bamba have formed an outstanding frontcourt, while Cole Anthony and Franz Wagner look great in the backcourt. That doesn't even consider their top-pick this season, with Jalen Suggs (thumb) missing games due to injury right now. That has this team with a bright future, but it's going to be a while before they compete for anything legitimate.

The Kings (10-14) have been playing much better since they fired Luke Walton, winning four of their last six games coming into this matchup. It's not like they've beat up on some slouches either, grabbing wins over the Los Angeles Clippers, Portland Trail Blazers and Los Angeles Lakers. All of those teams have had some struggles themselves, but it's encouraging to see Sacramento play so well against Western Conference foes that will be in the thick of things in terms of the playoffs. The talent on this team should compete with the elite, though, having a breakout point guard like De'Aaron Fox and pairing him with a breakout center like Richaun Holmes.

These clubs split their two-game season series last year, with the road team winning both outings. With that said, the Kings won five of their previous seven games over the Magic before that.
