Durant Pours In 51 Points To Carry Shorthanded Nets
The Brooklyn Nets defeated the host Detroit Pistons, 116-104, at Little Caesars Arena on Sunday evening.

Kevin Durant poured in 51 points to lead his shorthanded squad to the road win. The Nets got out to a strong start and led, 31-24, after one quarter. The Pistons responded in the second and took a brief lead, before the Nets clawed back to take a three-point advantage by halftime. The Pistons came out strong again in the third and maintained an edge through the final few minutes of the quarter, to take a five-point lead into the final frame. However, the Nets turned it up a notch in the final frame and outscored the hosts, 30-13, to rally to their second straight win. This marks the 12th consecutive loss for the Pistons.

Durant tallied seven rebounds, nine assists, two blocks and a steal, to go with his 51 points. Patty Mills followed up with 18 points, three rebounds, five assists and a steal, while LaMarcus Aldridge logged 15 points, five rebounds and a block. The Nets shot 47 percent from the field, including 11-of-28 from deep.

Meanwhile, Cade Cunningham led the Pistons with 26 points, eight rebounds, six assists, three steals and a block, in 36 minutes. Frank Jackson followed up with 25 points on 8-of-19 shooting, while Saben Lee totaled 17 points, six rebounds, six assists, three steals and a block. The Pistons shot 42 percent from the field, including 14-of-37 from long range.

The Pistons (4-22) will look to bounce back as they take on the Bulls in Chicago on Tuesday. The Nets (19-8) play host to the Raptors on Tuesday.
