Timberwolves Best Trail Blazers, 116-111
The Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the Portland Trail Blazers, 116-111, at Moda Center on Sunday night.

Each team got back a key component for the contest, with D'Angelo Russell and Damian Lillard making their returns from ankle and abdomen injuries, respectively. It was the Timberwolves (12-15) that benefited the most early, forging a 33-26 lead through one. However, the Trail Blazers (11-16) managed to erase all but one point from their deficit during the second quarter, yet their momentum was somewhat stifled by Minnesota's 33-point third-quarter showing. That left Portland with a manageable five-point deficit going into the final period, and although Chauncey Billups' club managed to build as much as a seven-point advantage at one point in the fourth quarter, the hosts finished on a 23-11 run over the final 7:14 to notch the win.

Anthony Edwards led the Timberwolves with 24 points, complementing them with four rebounds, three assists and one steal. Karl-Anthony Towns generated a 23-point, 10-rebound double-double that included four assists. Russell furnished 18 points, five rebounds, five assists and two steals. Jarred Vanderbilt delivered 14 points, eight boards, three steals and one block. Patrick Beverley and Jalen McDaniels posted matching 10-point tallies while recording four and seven rebounds, respectively.

Anfernee Simons paced the Trail Blazers with 26 points, supplementing them with three assists and one rebound. Lillard followed with 24 points, supplementing them with 11 rebounds and six assists. Norman Powell and Ben McLemore generated matching 15-point, two-rebound contributions, with Powell also dishing out four assists. Nassir Little netted 10 points.

The Timberwolves visit the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday night, while the Trail Blazers remain home and host the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday night.
