Hornets Defeat Kings, 124-123
The Charlotte Hornets defeated the visiting Sacramento Kings, 124-123, at Spectrum Center on Friday.

There were six ties and 12 lead changes, with neither team leading by more than 12 points. The final few seconds were crazy, with Cody Martin nailing a game-winning free-throw with 5.5 seconds remaining. Martin then absent-mindedly intentionally fouled De'Aaron Fox on the next possession but Fox missed both of his free-throws to close out Charlotte's victory. The Hornets shot 55 percent from the field and 30 percent from three-point range while holding the Kings to 48 percent from the field and 34 percent from long range. Charlotte also out-assisted Sacramento, 29-22.

The Kings (11-15) were led by De'Aaron Fox, accruing 31 points, two rebounds, five assists and four steals. Terence Davis amassed 19 points, eight rebounds and three steals. Tyrese Haliburton tallied 15 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and two steals. Buddy Hield accrued 15 points, six rebounds and two steals.

The Hornets (15-13) were led by Miles Bridges and his 23 points, seven rebounds and eight assists. Kelly Oubre Jr generated 22 points, six rebounds, five assists, two steals and two blocks. Gordon Hayward accumulated 19 points, four rebounds and seven assists, while Cody Martin had 19 points, eight rebounds, five assists and three blocks. James Bouknight led the bench with 24 points and six rebounds.

On deck for Sacramento is a road matchup with the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday. As for Charlotte, they return to action on Monday in a road matchup with the Dallas Mavericks.
