Suns Best Celtics, 111-90
The Phoenix Suns defeated the Boston Celtics, 111-90, at Footprint Center on Friday night.

Each team came in missing a key component, as the Celtics (13-14) were down Jaylen Brown (hamstring) while the Suns (21-4) were without Devin Booker due to his own hamstring ailment. Fittingly, both teams nearly played to a deadlock through the first 12 minutes, with Phoenix emerging from the first quarter with a 25-24 lead, However, the dynamic of the game would change for good in the second, a period during which the hosts outscored Boston by a 32-15 margin to take control of the contest. The Suns played suffocating defense, limiting the visitors to 37.6 percent shooting, including 15.4 percent from three-point range.

Jayson Tatum led the way for the Celtics with 24 points, adding seven rebounds, three assists and one block. Dennis Schroder supplied 15 points, three boards and three assists. Robert Williams delivered 10 points, five rebounds, one assist and two blocks.

JaVale McGee paced the Suns with a 21-point, 15-rebound double-double that included two assists and two blocks. Cameron Payne totaled 17 points, five assists and four rebounds. Jae Crowder and Cameron Johnson generated matching 16-point contributions while recording nine and six rebounds, respectively. Mikal Bridges netted 14 points, three rebounds, one assist and one block. The starting backcourt duo of Chris Paul and Landry Shamet managed 10 points apiece, with Paul also dishing out 12 assists.

The Celtics head back home to host the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday night, while the Suns hit the road to play the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday night.
